Latest Flat Panel Display Measurement System Meets VESA Requirements.

Display specialist Ginsbury Electronics has introduced a flat panel display measurement system that performs all the tests required in the VESA standard, spanning colormetric parameters to comprehensive viewing angle measurements.

The Westar FPM510 Measurement System comprises a five-axis motion base, dampened optical table, system controller PC and all the necessary system interface cabling. The universal test fixture accommodates any type and size of flat display - from an LCD module to a 42" plasma display.

Equally suited to the laboratory or production facility, the FPM 510 is able to completely characterise a flat panel display in only a few minutes. The entire system is controlled by the manufacturer's proprietary ViewpointTM software which is able to accommodate up to four measurement devices such as propriety spectroadiometers and photometers. Viewpoint also controls system parameters such as positioning of the DUT and measuring instruments.

Results from the automatic test sequences are logged to any Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Once in Excel, the raw data may be reduced and plotted using the software's math and plotting functions. An easy to use programming language can be used to compile test routines with automatic pass/fail detection.

Among the wide range of FPM510 accessories available from Ginsbury Electronics is an environmental chamber, a digital video generator, programmable power supplies, a uniform light source and a temporal response detector. Potential customers are able to evaluate the Westar FPM510 and make sample display measurements at Ginsbury's recently opened demonstration suite at the company's offices in Rochester, Kent.
